more appropriate option in terms of achieving NBN’s coverage objectives, as well as
providing more appropriate separation from community sensitive locations. Furthermore,
the land owners were unwilling to agree to commercial terms to enable the development.
For these reasons Candidate C was discounted.
Co-location opportunities
The area of Boreen Point did not offer any possible or feasible co-location opportunities.
Figure 3.2 below illustrates the location of existing telecommunication facilities in the wider
area. Within a 10 km radius of the Candidate B (Prime)there is only one existing facility.
As shown the closest existing facility is located approximately 9.5 km south of Candidate B
(Prime)in the suburb of Cooroibah. This facility is outside of the search area for Boreen
Point and would not provide reliable coverage for those residing in the township.
