    b) The onsite storage of waste does not create environmental nuisance or visual impact to
       adjoining property during the construction of a development; and

    c) Council and other licensed trade waste services are able to conveniently collect and dispose
       of waste generated by the development

In addition to the waste management code PSP09 – Waste Management, waste management must
be considered at the design stage of a development to ensure:

    1. Development provides for the sustainable management of waste in a manner which is
       environmentally acceptable, safe and efficient.
    2. The purpose of the Waste Management Code will be achieved through the following overall
       outcomes:-
          a. Development provides opportunities to minimise waste generation and increase re-
              use and recycling;
          b. Development provides for waste management facilities which are conducive to the
              storage of waste in an environmentally acceptable, nuisance free and aesthetically
              pleasing manner;
          c. Waste storage facilities are functionally appropriate for users of the facilities; and
          d. Waste collection services are undertaken in a safe, efficient and unobstructed
              manner.
The following report has been prepared to satisfy the requirements prescribed by the Waste
Management Code and supporting policy documents. The contents of this report is based upon the
Waste Management Plan report requirements prescribed by PSP11 – Waste Management Plans.

1.2. Environmental Objectives and Commitments
The main objectives of this SWMP are to:

    •   Reduce, reuse and recycle as much waste as possible within the site;
    • Avoid adverse environmental impacts and harm or nuisance to the public onsite and offsite
        from the use and disposal of waste products;
    • Demonstrate that the development incorporates suitable provisions for the storage of solid
        waste, including general waste and recyclable materials, which are appropriate and adequate
        for the type and amount of waste generated; and
    • Demonstrate that solid waste and recyclables can be safely collected from the site with
        minimum disruption to traffic.

Palm Lake Works Pty Ltd commits to following the relevant actions specified in this SWMP to reduce
the risk of environmental harm as well as comply with all relevant environmental regulations.

Waste management undertaken at the proposed development will be achieved through the
implementation of the ‘Waste Management Hierarchy’ (WMH) outlined in Queensland’s
Environmental Protection (Waste Management) Policy 2000), which includes the following
measures:

    •   Waste Avoidance;
    •   Waste Reduction;
