SERVICES & ORGANISATION COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 9 AUGUST 2016
Expenses are higher than budget primarily due to additional internal waste collections in
addition to an undetected water leak at the park. An investigation was undertaken by
Unitywater and Council’s Building and Plumbing Services and a new water meter has since
been installed. Management fees also increased commensurate with increased actual
revenue received.

Key Comments Noosa North Shore Beach Campground
Similar to Boreen Point and Noosa River, actual operating revenue for the 2015/16
financial year for the North Shore campground has exceeded budget due primarily to
favourable weather conditions over the holiday periods.
Operating expenses for the 2015/16 financial year were in line with budget.
The site will be subject to an upcoming Masterplan in order to inform Council of
requirements, associated costs and staging options for the campground refurbishment. The
impact on ongoing profitability (if any) will be assessed and reported.

PARK OCCUPANCY PERFORMANCE
The below table summarises occupancy data to 30 June 2016. The table highlights a 92.7%
occupancy rate for Noosa River Holiday Park (with powered caravan sites at 99.1% occupancy)
which reflects the geographical position of the park and its popularity with the caravan market
and generations of return users. The Noosa North Shore and Boreen Point Campgrounds’ lower
occupancy rates reflect that these facilities are more remote and offer a different experience.
Business Activity Occupants Average Stay % Site
(Days) Occupied
Boreen Point Totals 17,094 2.55 37.47%
Noosa River Totals 24,266 2.81 92.70%

MAINTENANCE
Maintenance for each location is undertaken according to established budget allocations, taking
into account reactive needs responsibilities under management agreements and ultimately will be
based on asset management plans once finalised. Condition assessments have been
undertaken internally and will be reviewed independently as part of the ongoing Council building
condition assessment project.
