          SITE CHARACTERISTICS

Site access is from sealed road pavement without kerb and channel by Church Street to
service the vacant lot. Topography was observed as generally sloping to the south, with the
peak elevation in the North-Western portion of the site at 98m AHD to 89m AHD in the south-
eastern portion of the site within the riparian area. The site is approximately 1.5km northeast
of Mount Cooroora (439m AHD) and Tuchekoi National Park. An unnamed non-perennial
watercourse is located along the site's southern boundary flowing in an easterly direction that
is approximately 900m upstream of the confluence with Cooroora Creek. A second Unnamed
non-perennial watercourse is located along the north-eastern corner of the site. Rolling to low
hilly terrain of a weakly dissected sedimentary basin with gently sloping convex hills and
significant stream flats (Atlas of Australian Soils ± Landscape Class Mb9) were documented
in the district. Soils are recorded as Kandosols that have massive or only weakly structured B
horizons (illuvial subsoil) below and are not calcareous throughout. Regional geology (1:100k
Gympie Map 9445) is recorded as Eocene aged Pomona Beds with lithology comprising of
shale, sandstone, conglomerate, and basalt. The development site is identified in Figure 1.
