    8. EVACUATION ROUTES
    8.1 Primary Evacuation to Louis Bazzo Drive
The primary evacuation route from the Emergency Evacuation Point to Louis Bazzo Road
comprises the internal north east access road which is used to access the wedding marquee
site. The evacuation route is to be set within a 10m low threat corridor and is suitable to host
all expected traffic types.
The western side of the evacuation route is primarily flanked by low threat managed orchards
and horse paddocks host to negligible fuel loads. The eastern side of the evacuation route is
flanked by hazardous wet eucalypt tall open forest in the south and then a mix of regrowth
acacia and eucalypt open forest as well as remnant eucalypt open forest. A ‘pinch point’ is
present along the route approximately 300m north-west of the marquee where the evacuation
route traverses a waterway which is flanked by hazardous vegetation for an approximate 40m
length.
If fire intercepts the forest edge on the eastern side of the evacuation route it would be
expected to impede safe egress and an alternative evacuation route or temporary shelter in
place option would be necessary.
    8.2 Alternative Evacuation to Louis Bazzo Drive or ‘shelter in place’ machinery
    Shed
The proposed alternative emergency access route from the wedding marquee measures
approx. 1,250m length to the farm shed in the south-west site corner; the designated shelter
in place building, & 1,720m length to Lous Bazzo Drive. The alternative emergency access
route utilises an existing farm track which connects to the main north south aligned driveway
through the site via macadamia orchards and a waterway crossing. The route offers 4WD /
AWD access to the main north south driveway during dry periods and requires crossing of a
hardwood single span bridge. The route is not currently considered suitable to host 2WD or
buses.

        8.2.1 SHELTER IN PLACE
In the event a bushfire prevents safe evacuation of the site, guests and employees will shelter
in place within the large 600sq.m machinery shed located in the south-west corner of the site
(refer Building A on Site Master Plan).

The building is effectively removed from bushland hazards being surrounded by macadamia
orchard. A minimum reserve of 10,000 litres of water will be available at the machinery shed
for use during a bushfire event. Given the available separation between the proposed shelter
in place location and adjacent bushland, the amount of dedicated water for fire-fighting
purposes is deemed adequate.

It is understood that a maximum total of 150 people may be present during an event including
staff. Commonly used emergency shelter in place requirements is 1.5m²/person hence the
600m² machinery shed can adequately cater for shelter in place numbers.

In the event of a shelter in place directive being issued, the Chief Fire Warden is to:
         Alert all guests and staff to assemble at the Emergency Evacuation Point and prepare
          to move to the shelter in place location in private vehicles or buses. Advise all people
          not to leave the site as it is too dangerous.
         Ensure all guests and staff have assembled at the Emergency Evacuation Point by
          conducting a ‘roll call’ from the Guest Register. Once all guests are accounted for
          direct them to move to the shelter in place location.
