Weed trees in the Rehabilitation Area are shown in the Tree Schedule on Figure 5.
Weed control will comply with relevant regulatory requirements, herbicide application safety
protocols and will take into account extreme events and other natural processes such as
erosion. Timing of weed control should coincide with suitable weather conditions for
herbicide application.
3.3.2 Follow Up Weed Control
To ensure that introduced species do not recolonise rehabilitated areas, follow up weed
control will be carried out at quarterly intervals between March 2025 and June 2026 as per
Table 4 – Rehabilitation Schedule.
3.4 Erosion Management
Soil disturbance should be kept to a minimum. Erosion and sediment control measures
should be maintained in a functioning condition until individual areas have been deemed
successfully rehabilitated.
Rocks and boulders or jute matting can be used intermittently on the edge of the driveway to
help stabilise the batter between planted areas.
3.5 Revegetation
The revegetation methods outlined in Table 3 will ensure optimal site capture with minimal
disturbance to existing vegetation. Approximately 100 tube stock will need to be planted to
achieve required plant densities in the cleared area near the driveway, and approximately
400 tube stock will be required in the regrowth (infill) areas. Species suggestions are provided
in the Planting Schedule in Figure 5 – Weed Management Plan and Planting Plan.
Tube stock should be local provenance, sun-hardened and free from Myrtle Rust and other
soil/plant pathogens. Local provenance, sun-hardened plants require minimal watering and
maintenance.
The optimum time for revegetation activities is spring and autumn; however opportunistic
revegetation can be undertaken in summer or winter, if conditions (air temperature and soil
moisture levels) are appropriate.
3.6 Monitoring and Evaluation
Regular monitoring of rehabilitated or revegetated areas will be required during the
establishment period and for the duration of the currency period of the development approval
to demonstrate that the objectives of the ERP have been achieved.
