Linke and Linke Surveys SLR Ref No: 620.31071-R01-v3.0-FEMP.docx Flood Emergency Management Plan February 2024 111 Lake Weyba Drive, Noosaville It is recommended that the body corporate setup an SMS push service to provide updates / instructions during FEMP activation. It is also recommended that all affected parties subscribe to the BoM Queensland weather warning RSS feed via the link: http://www.bom.gov.au/rss/?ref=ftr, and Council’s Noosa ALERT notifications via the Noosa Council Disaster Dashboard. The body corporate will be responsible for the overall communication, implementation and periodic update of the Flood Emergency Management Plan. Regular review (e.g. at least every five years) should be undertaken as new flood information may become available. These reviews should be regarded as an essential part of the risk awareness-raising process. 6.3 Emergency Management Measures 6.3.1 Habitable Floor Levels Any future dwellings on the site must be conditioned to have a minimum habitable floor level above the height of the PMF (3.43 mAHD) 6.3.2 Flood Height Gauge/Siren A flood gauge shall be installed at a suitable location along Lake Weyba Drive, subject to any other State or Council approvals required, and managed by the Body Corporate for the development. This gauge will monitor the flood level in metres AHD and shall be installed to Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) specifications to allow for site specific flood monitoring in conjunction with reviewing the BOM weather warnings consistent with the FEMP. The gauge will consist of an electronic monitoring device. A correlating reporting station will be provided on the development site. In addition to providing flood height information, the reporting station will activate a flashing light and audible warning tone to aid in flood evacuation procedures. It is recommended that the warning tone use two tones – one at 1.1 m AHD to advise residents to prepare for evacuation and a different tone at 1.3 m AHD to advise that evacuation must occur immediately. It is noted that the site does not include land which could be used for the gauge itself. The Body Corporate is responsible for the ongoing operation, management, maintenance (which includes replacement) and testing of the flood height gauge to BoM specifications. Table 10 provides useful information to assist residents in understanding the readings from the flood height gauge. Page 21 46
