Introduction
This Property Vegetation Management Plan addresses a request from Sunshine Coast
Regional Council in relation to the trees located on The Palms Body Corporate
controlled areas at Noosa Springs Community to minimise the amount of paperwork
involved in lodging an application to interfere with vegetation each and every time.
The document was also requested by The Palms gardening committee via Mark Jeffs.


This document follows up on the site inspection conducted on the 23rd of April 2012
between council environmental officers, two independent arborists (MrSamuel Cowie
and Mr Jeffrey Jakeman), Mark Jeffs and body corporate committee members.


An addition table and information is also included that covers the Community Body
Corporate controlled areas along the road known as R8 that is within The Palms
section ofNoosa Springs.


Aim
This property vegetation management plan aims to identify the trees on The Palms
Body Corporate controlled areas and the Community Body Corporate controlled areas
that may require removal in the future due to the following issues:
    .
       Inappropriate planting
    .   Infrastructure conflicts
    .   Tree Structural issues
    .   Risk management
    .   Useful life expectancy issues


This property vegetation management plan is aimed at being assessed under the
current Sunshine Coast Regional Council (SCRC)interim local law No 8 (protection
of Vegetation), and to allow the controlling body corporates to address tree pruning
and or removal without continued application to SCRC.


Tree Pruning
Any tree pruning is allowed as long as it doesn’t exceed 20% foliage cover per year
and is conducted as per AS4373-2007. Deadwood removal is allowed at any time of
the year and doesn’t count towards the 20% foliage cover limit.


Remedial pruning to remove storm damaged trunks and branches is allowed to exceed
the 20% foliage cover limit, although it must be conducted as per AS4373-2007.


Hedge pruning is to reduce ’hedge plantings’ to a more manageable size, which may
include topping and lopping or other pruning methods outside ofAS4373.
