SERVICE EXEMPTION PROCEDURE

1.       A service exemption request is not required for remote premises that are not within the
         area serviced by the waste collection contractor.
2.       Where a service exemption is requested for serviceable premises, a request for an
         exemption from a waste collection service must be made on the approved application
         form and is to address the exemption criteria mentioned above.
3.       Should exemption from a waste service be approved, waste from the premise must be
         disposed of at an approved council waste disposal facility.


DEFINITIONS

Bulk bin: large commercial bin greater in capacity than a 240 litre or 360 litre Mobile
Garbage Bin (MGB) which may or may not have wheels.
Cluster Bin Service: A group of one or more bins located in a strategic location such as on
road reserve where the bin/s can be serviced by the collection contractor. Cluster bin
services are provided at the discretion of council staff.
Wheelie Bin: A Mobile garbage bin (MGB), usually of 240L in capacity.
Waste service: Council’s collection of waste from premises within the defined waste
collection area provided by a waste contractor.
