ITEMS 13 – 15: GARNET STREET ACCESS

The site access driveway on Garnet Street would accommodate all vehicle turning movements.

According to Austroads Guide to Road Design, Part 4A: Unsignalised and Signalised Intersections, the
following Safe Intersection Sight Distance (SISD) requirements would apply to the site access:

          to/from the east: flat terrain + 30km/hr design speed as vehicles slow down to negotiate the Myall
          Street / Garnet Street / Maple Street roundabout: SISD = 52m
          to/from the west: flat terrain + 50km/hr design speed: SISD = 123m

Figure 2 and the attached SK002 demonstrate that the available SISD to/from the east and west of the
proposed access location complies with the minimum requirements recommended by Austroads.
Therefore, safe right turn exit movements out of the subject site are achievable.
