INFRASTRUCTURE & SERVICES COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 22 JULY 2014
A more detailed status report of these projects will be undertaken whilst preparing the 2014/2015
budget review 1 due at the completion of the 2013/14 financial reconciliation in September 2014.
Whilst there are a number of the projects nearing completion as indicated in the attached
spreadsheet there are also projects that are not completed due to their delivery method being
multi-year projects (projects that are delivered over 2 or more financial years) and these include:
Noosa Parade Munna Point Bridge rehabilitation
Noosa waters revetment walls rehabilitation
Sealed Road pavement surveys and investigations
4. Summary
The overall delivery of the first Noosa Council Capital works program achieved the delivery of 21
of a total 37 projects with a further 8 projects 50% completed or greater. The total capital
expenditure was at 75% of revised budget and if commitments are included this increases spend
to 84%. This is a significant achievement for the capital delivery team that had the Design and
Delivery Manager on leave for the first 10 weeks of the year; only one designer was on staff, who
was also absent for the last 2 months of the financial year; the area was also impacted by service
reviews; and, as everyone else in Council, also commenced from “a standing start”.
Further review of the non-completed projects will be considered at the first 2014/15 capital works
budget review due in September 2014.
Previous Council Consideration
The capital works program has previously been distributed to Councillors (document titled
“Noosa Council Draft Capital Works Program 2013/2014”, Version 1.0, 20/12/2013).
