INFRASTRUCTURE & SERVICES COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 11 NOVEMBER 2014

To meet the required timeframe for delivery of the ground works and provide the best chance of
delivering the new style shelters into these 15 sites, it is proposed to seek Council approval for
the CEO to have delegated authority to enter into contracts related to the 2 items above.

Previous Council Consideration

The Mayor and Councillors have agreed to pursue the design of a unique style for the coastal
and rural bus shelters.

Finance & Risk

Funding

Council has entered into a funding agreement with the Department of Transport and Main Road
(DTMR) to receive approximately 50% contribution towards the stop upgrades. The program of
works is estimated to cost in total $770,000 and is split $390,000 Council and $380,000 DTMR.

With regard to the unique bus shelter, the intention is to seek a supply contract for a 3 year
period to lock in the best possible price for the supply and installation of each shelter.

Risk

Without the delegation being given to the Chief Executive Officer, the delivery has potential to be
delayed.
