Response
Australian Standards 2890.1 (2004) in Section 3.4 does not specify any internal queuing provision
requirements for car park access driveways with no control points (i.e. boom gates & ticket issuing devices)
such as the proposed development, however it does specify the following internal queuing provision
requirements for car parks with a control point:

    • For a car park of less than 100 spaces, with a peak hourly in-flow of traffic of more than 75% of
capacity - the greater of a minimum of 2 cars or 4% of capacity

This equates to effectively 3 vehicle lengths (i.e. 18m) of internal queuing provision for the proposed
development

The proposed development provides effective total vehicle queuing provision of 19m by way of 9m at the
Gibson Road access and 10m at the Skipper Place access. It should be noted that the effective queuing
provision length within the development includes the low-turnover Service Van bays which are unlikely to be
impeded by any vehicle queuing within the development.

Item 9 - Internal Circulation
Indicate on the plans the proposed direction of traffic movements through the site.

Response

As per the original traffic report, the proposed internal parking aisles are all 6.2m wide which are designed in
accordance with AS2890.1 (2004) guidelines for two-way traffic flow.

Two-way directional line marking is proposed in the latest development plan as presented in Figure 1.
