Engineering Report & Stormwater Management Plan
Date: 27/01/2015 Document No.: 14012-ENG-04.Docx
By: AvT Revision No.: F
5. Stormwater Drainage
It is proposed that the stormwater drainage for the proposed multi-use development will be
piped to individual in-ground proprietary treatment device and then to bio-retention basins
for each catchment area. Refer attached Appendix B for proposed layout plans and details.
The stormwater from the service station, fast food outlet, food store and car wash areas and
the associated car parking will be treated in an in-ground device and basin to the South of the
car wash area, as well as landscaping around the car parking. The stormwater from the self-
storage unit will be treated in an in-ground device and basin to the East of this unit. The
stormwater from the internal roadway will be treated in the closest stormwater treatment
train. And the stormwater from the tourist park will be treated in an in-ground device and
basin to the East of the tourist park along the edge of the existing overland flow path.
All these individual an in-ground device and bio-retention basins will flow into a large single
detention basin located to the South of the site. It is proposed that the detention basin will
then drain to the existing overland flow path at the South of the site via a new concrete
headwall channelling the stormwater towards the two existing box culverts under Myall
Street. For more details refer to the engineering plans in Appendix B.
As indicated by Cooroy & Lake Macdonald Natural Resources Overlay (Map OM3.5), the site is
located within the Lake Macdonald water supply catchment.
