Motor vehicle sign
Amend the definition of ‘motor vehicle sign’ to clarify that it does not include business signage on
business vehicles of car wrapping.
Garage sale sign
Amend the criteria for garage sale sign to refer to ensure not attached to any road infrastructure,
not just local government road infrastructure.
Amend reference to “nailed” to a tree or vegetation to “attached” throughout the draft local law
and make minor clarification changes as required.
5. Statutory process and Public Notification
The draft local law has been prepared and publicly notified in accordance with Council’s Local
Law Making Process Policy (the Policy). Step 6 of the Policy states that if changes are proposed
to the draft local law following public notification, that are considered substantial, Council may
consult with the public for a further period of 21 days.
The proposed changes to the draft local law outlined in this report are considered substantial and
warrant further public notification.
The consequential changes proposed to Administration (Amendment) Local Law (No.1) 2019 are
minor and do not require further consultation with the State government.
There is a minor change to the list of likely anti-competitive provisions contained in Attachment 1
and the Public Interest Test Plan will be amended to reflect this change. The Public Interest Test
Plan will be publicly notified with the revised draft local law.
Following public notification, submissions will be reviewed and reported back to Council with a
final local law for adoption.
The public interest test report will also be reported to Council following public consultation.
