Finance
Administration of the draft local law and ongoing compliance will cost approximately $109,000
per annum for a full time assessment / compliance officer and vehicle.
The application fees are cost recovery and will cover the cost for assessing applications for
approval. The compliance component of the position is proposed to be funded through general
revenue and referred to 2020/2021 budget for consideration.
Risks & Opportunities
Because the new planning scheme does not contain provisions for advertising devices, the draft
local law must be in place at the time of its commencement to ensure adequate regulation and
management of advertising devices. It is anticipated the new planning scheme will be in place in
early 2020 at which time the local law will need to commence.
