SERVICES & ORGANISATION COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 7 AUGUST 2018
4. HALL UPGRADES
Discussions between Council and the Association produced an awareness of the desirability
of upgrading various facilities to meet modern expectations and current regulations.
Consequently, plans have been prepared outlining proposed upgrades to kitchen, toilets and
hall entries. These upgrades have resulted in reduction in the size of the bar area to extend
the disabled toilet; but the reduced bar still provides a serviceable facility in the same
location at minimal cost (approximately $3,000 to modify servery/entry door).
A building certifier has also been engaged and carried out a hall inspection. His
recommendations for upgrades for fire safety, including main entry modification and fire hose
reel installation, totalling $14,000, have been included in the estimates.
Proposed upgrade plans are attached as Appendix 2 and estimated costs for the various
upgrades totalling $216,000.
COST PLAN
Kitchen $55,000 App. 1.1
Toilets (including bar modification) $82,000 App. 1.2
Entries $34,000 App. 1.3
(including fire safety upgrades)
Painting (Exterior & Hall Interior) $45,000 -
Further details of the cost estimates are contained in the attached Appendix 1.
5. BUILDING MAINTENANCE/UPGRADE PROGRAMME
A Building Maintenance/ Upgrade Programme has been prepared providing a summary of
the various building activities and budget expenditures to deliver the project objectives.
The maintenance and upgrades have been cost estimated in detail and the estimates
summarised in the Programme attached as Appendix 1.
The activities scheduled in the Programme relating to maintenance issues raised in the IBI
Report are scheduled under “BUILDING REPORT”, Activity Nos. 1.1-1.7.
