Our catchment
Analysis of ticket sales data
undertaken for strategic planning
purposes at Sunshine Coast Council
venues in 2012 demonstrates that the
catchment for The J is concentrated
in the Noosa Shire area. While The J
sells tickets to people from interstate
and other parts of Queensland for
major events like the Noosa Long
Weekend, most events attract
audiences from a half hour drive
radius, mostly on the coast and close
hinterland.
This is consistent with social planning
benchmark approaches that categorise
The J – based on size and capacity – as
a district venue rather than a regional
venue.
Catchment Action:
Position The J as Noosa’s own
venue.
