Appendix D - traffic impact assessment
Attached to the e-mail MCU15/0111 & REC15/0031 Development Application D - Traffic Impact assessment Email 5 of 8.
The key outcome from the assessment is that all movements and legs are forecast to operate at a satisfactory Level of Service (LOS) of “C”. The worst 95th percentile queue length was 58m occurring on the through and right turn movement from the south approach on Elm Street. All of the traffic operations output parameters are well within the bounds of what are considered to be satisfactory operational conditions. For example, the worst degree of saturation is 0.55, versus an upper limit Practical Degree of Saturation of 0.80. Refer to the SIDRA output in Appendix C. The impact of the development traffic on the performance of the intersection is negligible, as shown in Table 3-3. For example, the Level of Service of the intersection, and in some instances the degree of saturation, did not change with the additional development traffic at this intersection. Further, the 95th queue length in the future design year 2028 increased by up to 4m in the evening peak hour with the development traffic. This small increase is less than a standard vehicle length (6m). Based on the analysis above and the negligible change in performance of this intersection, there are no upgrades proposed to this intersection location.
