Approved Plan - Landscape Specification prepared by URBIS - OPW24/0110
Levels Ensure there is no more than 2mm different in height between adjoining pavement segments, other adjoining pavements, top of kerbs or pit covers (unless specified otherwise). Spot levels take precedence over contour lines and existing ground profile lines. Concrete Joints All joints to be laid out as indicated on the construction drawings. If the location and type of construction joints are not shown on the drawings, submit proposed location and detail of construction joints to the Landscape Architect for approval prior to the start of formwork placement. Periods of stoppage in concrete of 3/4 hour or more are deemed to be construction joints. Ensure that joint widths between pavers at dowelled construction joints are equal to the underlying concrete pavement joint widths. The concrete base slab should not be designed solely as a jointed reinforced concrete pavement (JRCP) but must be designed and detailed to avoid differential strains between the pavers and the concrete slab. Pavers to be laid immediately following construction of concrete base to avoid shrinkage of slab. Expansion joints All visible expansion joints to be 10mm wide zipped polyethylene foam (e.g. Abelflex) sealed with an approved coloured sealant (e.g. Sikaflex or equivalent). Colour to match the lightest coloured adjacent pavement. Expansion joints in structural slab underneath (both basement and single slab) are to be carried through to the surface in the same dimensions. Control joints To be 20mm deep cut saws. Make the joint straight and true, and free from blemishes impermissible for its surface finish class. 9.2. All sawn timber to be branded as complying with the requirements of AHQC (Australian Hardwood Quality Council). Timber Connections Structural fasteners shall be located in sound timber avoiding timber defects. Fasteners shall be installed in accordance with Manufacturer’s instructions.
