EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Not applicable.
RECOMMENDATION
That Council note the report by the Property and Facilities Manager to the Services &
Organisation Committee Meeting dated 10 May 2016 and authorise the exercise of the option to
extend the current management agreement for a further one (1) year period commencing 1
August 2016, subject to the Campground Manager signing a Deed of Extension acknowledging
that development works may commence late in the proposed extension period and
acknowledgement of the potential operational impact.
REPORT
Noosa Council operates three holiday parks which offer a wide variety of unique experiences for
visitors. All holiday parks operate under a management agreement with Council with varying
terms to suite the scale of the operation.
The current Managers of the Noosa North Shore Beach Campground are Beachfront Caravan
Park Pty Ltd who have been operating the Noosa North Shore Campground since 1 August
2012. Pursuant to the management agreement, the successful tenderer was awarded the first of
2 x 1 year options commencing 1 August 2015. An additional option falls due this year, and the
incumbent has requested in writing to exercise the final one (1) year option, commencing 1
August 2016.
Council has engaged consultants to develop a conceptual layout plan and feasibility analysis for
upgrading the campground. Given the actual redevelopment work is not expected to commence
for another 12 months the campground will still be operational and will require some onsite
management over the intervening period (including some potential cross over between the
commencement of development works and the end of the management agreement extension
that may have operational implications for the site manager).
Accordingly, the purpose of this report is to seek Council approval to extend the current
management agreement for a further one (1) year period commencing 1 August 2016. The
incumbent has generally discharged its obligations in relation to the current agreement to date.
