PLANNING & ORGANISATION COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 15 SEPTEMBER 2015
The table in Figure 2 below provides a summary of the proposed new tenancies within the shopping
centre expansion and reconfiguration areas.
Figure 2 – Proposed Tenancies and Floor Areas
By way of examples, discount department stores include K Mart and Target, mini majors include
JB Hi-Fi, Rebel Sports and Priceline stores. The applicant indicates new anchor tenants are likely
to include a Coles supermarket, an Aldi Supermarket and a Target discount department store,
though future tenant details are not a formal aspect of the application.
The reconfigured portion of the existing centre includes a larger gym and alterations to back-of-
house areas and service vehicle circulation routes. A major refurbishment to the front presentation
of the existing centre is also proposed, which includes extensive new awnings, arbours and
plantings.
The shopping centre expansion will connect from the existing food court area across an
environmental covenant area to the east via a 25m wide pedestrian and seating link. The
expanded shopping mall area then runs generally north south and generally aligns with Precinct J
on the Master Plan for the Noosa Business Centre (NBCMP) applying to the site, which has now
been dedicated as environmental Covenant J.
