Risks
Failure to ensure trained staff are available to relieve at all waste disposal facilities could result in
serious impacts upon council’s reputation and loss of revenue from disposal fees if the facilities
are closed because staff are unavailable to operate a waste disposal facility.

Opportunities
     RRA is ideally situated at Eumundi Road to provide cost effective relief staff to allow
       permanent weighbridge staff to take a lunch breaks particularly when compared to the
       costs of external casual staff travelling to and from the facility to provide half an hour relief;
     RRA are also able to train a pool of relief staff which is more advantageous to Council than
       the engagement of one external casual staff member who would not be able to cover
       multiple staff absences on the one day;
     RRA would contribute significantly to the ongoing processing of mattresses including foam
       mattresses diverting a significant volume of foam and other material from disposal to
       landfill; and
     RRA is also a not for profit organisation so there is a positive social capital component to
       the proposed arrangement.
