Noosa Civic
Engineering Report
The projected peak flows developed as per Unitywater’s Desired Standards of Service (DSS) are detailed in
Table 2-2 below. Average Day demands are based on a projected use of 230 L/EP/day for water, and 210
L/EP/day for sewer.

A report recently prepared previously by Cardno for a nearby development (Noosa on Weyba, Cardno 2013)
in the same service area was used to gain an understanding of the network capacity within the vicinity of the
proposed Noosa Civic expansion. This review ascertained network capacities in both the water and sewer
service networks. It was determined that sufficient capacity is currently available in each network for the
proposed expansion without the need for significant enhancement.
This finding will need to be confirmed with Unitywater prior to planning approval being granted. A relevant
application for assessment has been lodged with Unitywater but Cardno was still awaiting a formal response
at the date of lodgement of this current with Council.
The report prepared by Cardno for a nearby development is publically available on

Water Supply
Noosa Civic is located within the Noosa Industrial DMA water supply zone. An existing 600 mm diameter
trunk main along Eenie Creek Road, is the primary service main for Noosa and is in close proximity to the
proposed expansion. For the 2013 Cardno report referenced above (Noosa on Weyba), the external supply
network was assessed by MWH for additional growth. The relevant conclusions of the MWH report were:
Under maximum hour demand conditions Unitywater DSS were met at the proposed development site and
within Noosa Industrial DMA during the 2038 planning horizon.
Under fire flow demand conditions Unitywater DSS were met at the proposed development site and within
Noosa Industrial DMA during the 2038 planning horizon.
No augmentation of the existing network is required.
Sewerage
The proposed development site is within the Noosa Coastal sewerage scheme. The Noosa Coastal
sewerage scheme flows are treated at the Noosa Heads Sewage Treatment Plant (STP).
Noosa Civic is within the Noosaville Industrial sewerage catchment area. This catchment is primarily a
residential catchment discharging to a larger pump station (NVL011) which discharges via a 200 mm
diameter rising main into the trunk gravity mains along Eenie Creek Road. Twin gravity trunk mains convey
flow from the Noosaville Industrial and other catchments to a large pump station, NVL040. NVL040 captures
flow from all catchments to the west of Eenie Creek and conveys flow via a 450 mm diameter rising main to
the Noosa Heads STP.
