Noosa Civic
Engineering Report

NVL011 is located to the south of the existing Noosa Civic along Rene Street. The 2013 Cardno report noted
the capacity at NVL011 is limited. The NVL011 catchment has projected growth of approximately 2,060EPS
to 2,900EPS (+840EP). Current capacity of the installed pump units is approximately 34L/s (or 2,797EPS).
The Noosa Civic expansion will include an additional 350 EP. It is not expected the inclusion of the proposed
expansion will significantly impact the operation of NVL011.
Review of the 2013 Cardno report referenced above indicated the Noosa Coastal catchment has limited
capacity for growth within the zone. However, the downstream trunk network has capacity. It is noted that
Unitywater has previously advised that the Noosa heads STP is operating within its licence limits and has
capacity to accommodate growth within the existing catchments, up to Planning Horizon 2015. Beyond 2015
it is expected a programmed augmentation will enable further capacity.
In conclusion, the analysis and our understanding of the network supports the finding that sufficient capacity
exists within the existing water supply and sewerage service networks to cater for the expansion of Noosa
Civic. It is recommended that further detailed analysis be undertaken to confirm the network capacities and
infrastructure requirements to service the expansion and any impact on the network external to the proposed
expansion.
