Noosa Civic Engineering Report 3 Electricity Supply The proposed development is within the Energex electricity distribution area. Based on the area of the proposed development, the maximum demand for the proposed development will be approximately 3-4MVA. Therefore, approximately four 1MVA 11kV/400V transformers will be required to serve the proposed development. Since the maximum demand is over 1MVA, Energex will require the site to connect via the Energex Large Customer Connection process. There is an Energex pre-feasibility enquiry form that can be completed to determine the impacts on existing Energex infrastructure. This enquiry will be undertaken at an appropriate time prior to planning approval being granted. Based on a desktop audit of the DBYD Energex maps, it seems that conduits have been installed in the current Noosa Civic centre for future electricity cabling to serve the proposed development (see sheets 4 & 5 in the attached Figure 1). Potentially there is scope to take an 11kV supply from the existing transformer SG765138, and reticulate through existing conduits to serve new 11kV transformers as required for the proposed development. If the existing 11kV reticulation in the area is close to its maximum loading, a new 11kV circuit may be required from a 33/11kV distribution substation. The closest distribution substation is located on Eumundi Road approximately 1.3km from the proposed development site. Based on this desktop audit, there are no major issues in providing electricity to the site, subject to confirmation from Energex. Discussions on the project have commenced with Energex, but no formal response has yet been received. QIC Noosa Civic Pty Ltd Version 1 November 2014 engineering report_final.docx Page v
