5.5      Site Access, Transport & Parking
Two existing residential driveways provide access to the subject site. It is proposed that these will be
removed and site access consolidated into a single, centrally located access driveway which provides
vehicle access to each unit from within the site. This eliminates multiple crossovers and removes the
vehicle dominated landscape of multiple driveways and garages fronting the street. The site has been
designed to ensure vehicles can leave the site in a forward direction, improving safety when vehicles
cross the pedestrian path on leaving the site.

The site is well located in terms of alternative transport options and links directly to the existing cycle
network on Moorindil Street and Poinciana Avenue (refer Figure 16). An existing pathway on Toolar
Street also links the site to the pedestrian pathway network of Tewantin.. Several bus stops are located
nearby with the closest being in Moorindil Street, approximately 200m from the subject site. Figure 17
below illustrates the walking route to the nearest bus stop which carries a bus route to Noosa Civic
Shopping Centre (Route 628).

Waste collection will be kerbside pickup with residents placing their bins in the designated collection
area near the kerb on the site frontage on the day of collection. It will not be necessary for a Waste
Collection Vehicle to enter the site. Each resident will be able to store their own bins out of sight in the
garage (see Figure 7)

Each dwelling is provided with 2 car spaces. A single enclosed garage with dimensions of 6.0m x 3.2m
is enclosed by a slatted door fronting the internal driveway. Adjacent to each single garage is an open
car court measuring 2.85m x 5.4m. This space, can be used flexibly as an alternative courtyard and
private open space should the resident have only one vehicle. Two visitor spaces are provided at the
ends of the internal driveway. The location of the visitor parking can be seen on the site layout above
in Figure 5.
