6. State Planning Interests

6.1      Planning Act
The Planning Act 2016 (‘the Act’) is the relevant statutory instrument under which development
applications are assessed by the local government. In respect of the proposed development, a Code
Assessable development application is made in accordance with s. 51 of the Act.


6.2      Referral Agencies
Referral matters for this proposal have been assessed against the provisions of Schedule 10 of the
Planning Regulation 2017. There are no development triggers identified for referral of the proposed
development.



6.3      State Planning Policy
The relevant provisions of the State Planning Policy (July 2017) have been incorporated into the Noosa
Plan 2020. In accordance with s.8(4)(a) of the Planning Act 2016, separate assessment against the
SPP is required only where any inconsistency exists between the SPP and the planning scheme and
only to the extent relevant. As such, no further assessment is required.
