ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF PERSONNEL INVOLVED IN ECOLOGICAL MANAGEMENT 1-8
1.5 Training Requirements
The Developer is responsible for ensuring that the ERP Contractor meets the contractual
specifications for adequate training to be provided to all members of the ERP implementation team
for the Settlers Cove Project. This responsibility for training can be devolved to the Restoration
Ecologist who should liaise with the Project Manager and agencies to ensure current interpretations
of the EMP are appropriate.
As a minimum, all staff working in the ERP area will be required to undergo a Site Induction,
incorporating environmental awareness training, prior to being allowed to work on the site. The
induction will detail the site’s environmental attributes and highlight the relevant requirements of this
EMP and associated Management Plans. It is expected that the Restoration Ecologist will assist in
this training.
A key component of the Site Induction and Environmental Awareness training will be application of
the Site Management Rules that will apply to all contractors, sub-contractors and others working on
the site.
Appendix B presents the Site Management Rules that will be presented to each attendee. Each
attendee will be required to sign the form (also see Appendix B) acknowledging that they have read,
understood and will comply with the Site Management Rules. These signed forms will be retained by
the ERP Contractor and will be available for inspection by Council at any time. A copy of the Rules
is also to be retained by employees. Anyone in breach of the Rules will be directed by the ERP
Contractor to rectify the breach. A significant breach may necessitate exclusion of the offender from
the site.
1.6 Performance Criteria and Guidelines
Primary performance criteria for EMP 3 are provided in the ERP (refer Section 4.1.4) and the
relevant Council conditions of approval i.e. Conditions 48 to 50 (DA 23116) and 47 to 49
(DA23118). There are also relevant Noosa Council policies in regard to weed control and waste
management.
The preparation of this EMP has been undertaken following a review of existing information
including the following:
• Ecological Restoration Plans and Specifications- C&B Consultants May 2005
• Fauna Management Plan – C&B Consultants May 2005
• Landscape Master Plan – Landgraphics- May 2005
• Fire Management Plan – WBM 2005
• Various engineering documents prepared by Tate Professional Engineers.
1.7 Complaints Procedure
The ERP Contractor will receive and record all complaints during the construction phase. They will
be (unless otherwise nominated) the initial point of contact. The contact details of this nominee will
