REPORT
Purpose
The purpose of this report is for Council to consider and endorse the second round of 2017/2018
Community Project Grants. Four separate reports have been provided to the Services &
Organisation Committee Meeting dated 7 November 2017 reflecting the four grant categories:

2. Events $28,835.00
3. Equipment $20,684.00
4. Infrastructure $81,749.08
Background
The second 2017/2018 round of the Community Project Grants was advertised in local
media and through community networks with a closing date of 22 September 2017.
A total of 36 applications were received requesting $272,185.09.
Applications were checked for eligibility against the Noosa Council Community Grants
policy and guidelines.
Applications were reviewed and commented on by specialist staff with appropriate
expertise.
All applications and staff comments were discussed and assessed by the grants
assessment panel.
The assessment panel is recommending 29 applications receive $154,068 funding from the
Community Project Grants.
This leaves $3,124.80 left in the grants program.
The Director of Community Services is recommending that of this remaining allocation, $3,000 be
granted to United Synergies to provide emergency relief for people experiencing homelessness
and financial hardship across the Shire including those residents of Johns Landing who are
having to relocate.
