The inclusion of permanent residential development on site would therefore have a net positive
impact and benefit for surrounding retail, commercial and community facilities introducing much
needed choice in modern residential dwelling stock for Peregian Beach and opportunities for
residents to downsize their living and upsize their Peregian lifestyles.
Importantly, there is a clear and pressing need for improved choice and stock in residential
lifestyles that will in part address the declining affordability of the Peregian Beach and Noosa
lifestyle, and contribute to residential choice in living and lifestyles in Peregian Beach, including
choice in type and location of residential dwellings.
Opportunities for residents to downsize to modern residential dwellings whilst maintaining
connectivities with local Peregian Beach and Noosa lifestyles are limited, with the subject site
and proposed development offering dwelling solutions that will contribute to the relative
affordability of a Peregian Beach lifestyle proximate to day-to-day services and conveniences for
residents, including downsizing households.
