SERVICES & ORGANISATION COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 11 OCTOBER 2016
The role of the Technical Officer – Capital Planning will be to facilitate the prioritisation and
development of the total Council 10 year capital program. The key function of the role is to assist
in the improvement of prioritisation and validation systems for initiated projects and develop design
briefs for projects aligned to the program.
The provision of these additional resources will allow the Asset Planning Coordinator to address
the strategic development of asset management as outlined in the asset management roadmap
initiatives, ensure Council develops good asset condition knowledge resulting in the ability to
understand our assets, .and will ensure that capital renewal programs will reflect identified risk
based priorities.

That Council note the report by the Asset Planning Coordinator to the Services & Organisation

capability assessment and:

The funding of these two positions was discussed with LT and will be funded from a combination
of operating funds provided as a new initiative in the 2016/17 budget and capitalised staff budgets
provided in the 2016/17 capital works programme.
