GENERAL COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 17 OCTOBER 2016
There is asbestos cement sheeting to the various walls in the projector room.
It is brought to your attention that any maintenance work to be carried out on the building,
will require the asbestos cement sheeting to be either sealed or removed.
(c) There is evidence of termite damage to the southern cornice to the ceiling over the
projector room as well as to some of the caneite, but not limited to this area of the projector
room.
Further investigation is required once clear access has been provided.
(iii). © FEMALE TOILETS:
(a) The VJ ceiling over the female toilet is exhibiting evidence of termite damage in various
areas. This area is to the north eastern corner of the original hall and is below the area of
significant damage to the roof frame and gable above.
There are two VJ boards that have approximately a 2400 mm length of board completely
eaten and another that is approximately 700 mm long.
(b) There is evidence of termite damage to the cover strip (approximately 450 mm down from
the ceiling) to the eastern wall above the disabled toilet area.
To ascertain the full extent of the termite damage in this area of the female toilet area
above the disabled toilet area would require further invasive investigation to be carried out.
There is evidence of termite damage to the cover strip area on the wall / ceiling to the
western end of the northern side of the female toilet area.
To ascertain the full extent of the VJ lining to the walls and ceiling would require further
invasive investigation to be carried out.
(c) The Fibrolite (AC) sheeting to the high section of the southern side of the female toilets has
some cracking/fracturing present.
This can be maintained in a safe condition if it is adequately sealed at all times.
(d) There are some missing floor tiles from the toilet floor in the first cubicle in from the eastern
side of the toilet area.
These missing tiles are sitting on the north western corner of the floor in this cubicle and as
such can be refixed.
(e) The door to the western cubicle is relatively new and hasn’t been painted.
(iv). | TOILET FOR THE DISABLED:
(a) There is some termite damage to the wall lining in this area, in the area above the basin and
to the eleventh and twelfth VJ board in from the southern end of the eastern wall.
The basin in the disabled toilet doesn’t have a splashback fitted.
