GENERAL COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 17 OCTOBER 2016
4.0 COST ESTIMATES.
(i) The estimated cost to bring the COOROY MEMORIAL HALL & SCHOOL OF ARTS up to a
standard, where it can be used by the general public, would require a budget in the vicinity
of Three to Four Hundred Thousand Dollars, which would include an allowance for a
Contingency Sum that may or may not be required for items yet to have further invasive
investigation carried out.
The above mentioned allowance, doesn’t allow for the removal of the asbestos cement
sheeting located on the ceiling and walls to the main hall, because in its present condition
isn’t posing a health hazard
Should the removal of all asbestos containing materials from the building be required, then
the cost allowance would increase significantly.
(ii) The cost to demolish the COOROY MEMORIAL HALL & SCHOOL OF ARTS, should it be
required as an option would be in the vicinity of One Hundred and Sixty Five Thousand
Dollars.
