Noosa Civic Expansion
Figure 5-3 Intersection Upgrade Analysis
The recent Noosa Council Priority Infrastructure Plan (PIP) 2013 identifies a proposed reconstruction of this
roundabout during the timeframe of 2021 – 2026. This reconstruction is in preparation for the proposed
Tewantin Bypass that will duplicate Beckmans Road to connect Cooroy Noosa Road with Eumundi Noosa
Road at this relocated roundabout. The Tewantin Bypass is proposed to occur during the timeframe of 2021-
2031.
It is apparent from Figure 5-3 that the intersection is forecasted to breach its capacity at 2024, which is within
the timeframe of Council’s proposed reconstruction of the roundabout. Therefore additional upgrades to the
intersection would not be necessary so long as these scheduled works (reconstruction of roundabout)
maintain the capacity for the development scenario at the 2028 design horizon. The proposed layout of the
relocated roundabout with the Tewantin Bypass is illustrated on Figure 5-4. SIDRA analysis results for the
proposed intersection are summarised in Table 5-6.
