7.2 Management Strategies
The following management strategies are recommended:
a. Outdoor dining to occur during the day/evening period (7am - 10pm).
b. Amplified music for restaurants to be limited to background music only. No external amplified music
during the night period (10pm-12am).
c. Facades to be closed (windows/doors) for restaurants during the night period (10pm-12am).
d. Function rooms (central and southwest):
i. External use - amplified sound/music for the outdoor area to be at background sound levels only
during the day/evening period (7am-10pm). Any external speakers to be internally facing. No
external amplified sound/music during the night period (10pm – 12am).
ii. Internal use - façades may be open during the day/evening period (7am – 10pm) for:
(1) Patron and background amplified sound/music only
(2) Function space (southwest) to have southwest façade closed for any use (Figure 8)
iii. Internal use - façades to be closed for:
(1) Use of amplified sound/music during any time period (louder than background music)
(2) Any use during the night period (10pm – 12am)
(3) External entry/exit doors to use self-closing mechanism
iv. Maximum allowable internal sound levels as per Table 9.
v. Noise absorbent ceiling recommended (eg. perforated plasterboard with insulated backing).
e. External communal facilities (pools and tennis court) to be limited to between 6:30am – 9pm.
f. Deliveries and waste collection to occur between the hours of 7am – 9pm.
g. Bus parking (with engine running) at the bus turnaround/parking area to not occur during the night
period (10pm – 7am).
h. Car park to have a non-wheel squeal surface finish (for example not painted or polished concrete).
i. Any speed humps should be bitumen, concrete (as part of the slab) or rubber, not metal.
j. Any grates or other protective covers in the car parking area should be rigidly fixed in position to
eliminate clanging and be maintained.
