5.6 Neighbourhood Safer Places

The following Neighbourhood Safer Places have been identified for the NSC Local Government
Area. These locations were obtained from the Queensland Rural Fire Service website
https://ruralfire.qld.gov.au/Fire_Safety_and_You/Neighbourhood_Safer_Places/LGAs/Brisbane_Cit
y_Council.asp, (refer Table 1).

None of these areas are particularly close to the site and a ‘safer’ location may be sought by future
residents of the site by simply travelling north towards the denser urban areas, however, roads
through retained vegetation should be avoided.

5.7 Fire Management Strategy – Noosa National Park

Fire management with the Noosa National Park located near the site is implemented by the
QPWS. QPWS undertake controlled burns within the National Park to help protect against wildfires
and maintain biodiversity. Such burns assist in protecting adjoining assets and also diminishing the
risk across the entire local area.
