Infrastructure Services Department
Approval is sought to increase the EFT of the Building Facilities Branch with the creation of a
new position of Maintenance Plumber. The need for this position has been identified as a
consequence of workforce planning and the future retirement of the current Maintenance
Plumber. As a result the EFT of the Department will increase from 124.3 to 125.3.
Temporary/Project Positions
As previously identified, temporary positions are not included in the EFT as they are project
based with specific terms, i.e. start and end dates. An updated list of temporary/project positions
is attached in Attachment 3. While temporary positions are not counted in the EFT they do have
budgetary implications in the short term and for this reason the current status of positions and
any new or extended temporary/project positions greater than 1 year are reported to Council.
Council’s attention is drawn to:
The creation of a new temporary position of Infrastructure Planning Officer for a three year
term to assist with planning for Council’s ongoing Capital Works Programme, Transport
and Place Making Projects. The additional position will be funded from capitalised staff
budgets provided for in the Capital Works Programme initially, however there will be an
increase in the IPDD operational budget in subsequent years.
Extensions to the terms of the following existing positions as detailed in Attachment 3:
Project Support Officer, Strategic Land Use Planning;
Principal Strategic Planner, Strategic Land Use Planning;
Project Co-ordinator, Climate Change Adaption; and
