State Government Requirements

General

The two primary pieces of state legislation evoking the protection of flora values are the
Vegetation Management Act 1999 and the Nature Conservation Act 1992 and associated NCWR
1994.

Vegetation Management Act 1999

Reference to the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) 2001 Regional Ecosystem Map for
Lot 1444 on CG3956 and obtained from the Environmental Protection Agency on the 7”
September 2005 indicates that the development site has been mapped as non-remnant vegetation
with the exception of a small polygon of remnant vegetation extending marginally onto to the
central southern property boundary. The RE is described as a ‘2001 Remnant Not of Concern
Regional Ecosystem’ and forms part of polygon extending to the south-west and east along a
watercourse. This polygon has been described as comprising RE.12.3.2, which is described in

and in narrow gullies in high rainfall areas. Major vegetation communities include:
12.3.2a: Open forest of Eucalyptus resinifera and Syncarpia glomulifera with a wet heath
understorey. Other species include Melaleuca linarifolia, Melaleuca seeberi +/- Corymbia

gummifera. Narrow gullies in high rainfall areas.

According to the REDD Version 4.2 (March, 2005), the remnant extent of this regional
ecosystem was greater than 10,000 ha and greater than 30% of the pre-clearing extent of this
