LSA Ref: 45-021 2.5.5 N o 2.6.1 NCWR 1994 All flora species identified and recorded as a result of site investigations were cross-referenced with schedules of the Nature Conservation (Wildlife) Regulation 1994 (NCWR 1994) for occurrence of rare, threatened or otherwise noteworthy species. No flora species or vegetation communities recorded during the site investigation are listed under the NCWR 1994 as being rare, threatened, vulnerable or endangered. However, a number of species were listed as being of ‘common significance’ under the NCWR 1994, although such a classification has no implications on the current development proposal. Local Government Requirements Reference to Map OM3.1 — Biodiversity Overlay of the Draft Noosa Planning Scheme indicates that the small area of remnant native vegetation encroaching onto the central southern boundary of the development site has been mapped for Environment Protection. As the proposed development will not involve any interference with vegetation on the area of land mapped for Environment Protection the proposed development would not trigger assessment against the Biodiversity Overlay Code of the Draft Noosa Planning Scheme pursuant to Table 13.1 — Assessment Categories and Relevant Assessment Criteria for the Biodiversity Overlay — All Development. FAUNA General Description In order to assess individual fauna species and faunal assemblages inhabiting or accessing the development site and to predict potential impacts on resident fauna populations, the following research methods were employed: > a desk-top literature review of available information and database sources which describe fauna species previously noted on the development site or in the general vicinity; and > a field assessment at the development site, which included opportunistic sightings, survey for tracks, scats and other traces of fauna at specific locations. The conservation significance of the fauna identified at the development site was ascertained by cross-referencing survey data with the following: 14 November 2005 Department of State Development, Trade and Innovation Page: 15 Planning Report
