Noosa High Priority Cycle Route Corridor Study and Concept Design
Final Options Analysis Report (Corridor 2)
LOCATION DETAILED DESIGN CONSIDERATION
• Apply appropriate driveway treatment to support cyclist priority.
•
Y
Segment 4: Consider lighting requirements of existing shared paths at northern and southern ends of
Marcus Beach Tristania Drive.
• Confirm footpath (e.g. ability to meander path) and widths (e.g. ability to apply localised
LIC
path narrowing) to avoid impacting existing utilities and vegetation.
• Confirm suitability of high-speed ramp between shared path and Tristania Drive.
• Apply appropriate driveway treatment to support cyclist priority.
• Review the speed environment on Tristania Drive and confirm if additional treatments are
required to reinforce the 30km/h speed limit for cycle streets.
PO
Segment 5: • Confirm footpath (e.g. ability to meander path) and widths (e.g. ability to apply localised
Peregian Beach path narrowing) to avoid impacting existing utilities and vegetation.
North
• Apply appropriate driveway treatment to support cyclist priority.
• Investigate path elevation and potential pinch point between Glen Eden Beach Resort and
Peregian Esplanade.
Segment 6: • Consider implementation of a speed hump on Plover Street, on approach to the Kingfisher
Peregian Beach
South
CIL
Drive/Grebe Street/Plover Street roundabout.
• Confirm design of Plover Street/Piper Street intersection and Shearwater Street/Lorikeet
Drive intersection.
• Confirm footpath (e.g. ability to meander path) and widths (e.g. ability to apply localised
path narrowing) to avoid impacting existing utilities and vegetation.
N
• Confirm impacts of cycle street on Lorikeet Drive and identify works (e.g. restricting on-
street parking, vehicle movements, etc.) to provide appropriate sight lines and a safe overall
cycling environment.
OU
Other: Ross • Confirm possibility of retaining on-street parking while providing appropriate sight lines for
Crescent motorists and cyclists with implementation of cycle street.
• Consider lighting requirements of existing shared path south of Ross Crescent.
Other: Sobraon • Confirm design of Sobraon Street/Tingira Crescent intersection.
Street/Tingira
• Confirm ability to provide 2.5m wide shared path on eastern side of Tingira Crescent and
Crescent
determine impacts on existing vegetation, edge of pavement and on-street parking.
TC
• Confirm Orealla Crescent and Tingira Crescent crossing locations and types.
Other: Peregian • Confirm path alignment and design treatment adjacent Peregian Beach Village Square,
Beach Village linking Segment 5 and 6. Although a shared path through Peregian Park is currently
Square preferred, the implementation of a cycle street (with amended car parking) on Kingfisher
Drive could be an appropriate alternative treatment. This alternative should be considered if
the preferred option is deemed unfeasible.

6.2.3 Risk assessment
An assessment of the key risks associated with the project and the future implementation of the proposed cycle facilities
was undertaken and possible mitigation measures provided. The findings of this assessment are presented in Table 40.
0996 – 24 February 2021 – V2 The analysis, design and cost estimating referenced in the report was73undertaken
solely to guide planning and should not be interpreted as a final or endorsed
position of Noosa Council.
