5.1 LANDSCAPE CONCEPT PLAN
A Landscape Concept Plan for the development has been prepared by Jeremy Ferrier Landscape Architect
and is included as Appendix H to this report.
The key elements of the Landscape Concept Plan include:
• A landscape design response that involves native and locally endemic species that will thrive in the
climate of the site, whilst also integrating into the existing green landscape and backdrop of Noosa
National Park;
• Retention of existing mature vegetation at the rear of the site where practical;
• A landscaped environment which looks to integrate with the built form with the site and the broader
locality;
• Planting layouts and arrangements to maximise amenity whilst increasing pedestrian permeability
and intuitive wayfinding around the site;
• Appropriate visual screening and buffering to maximise amenity for neighbouring residents and road
traffic;
• The incorporation of Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD);
• Street trees are delivered as a consequence of the ROL permit and associated OPW. Any trees that
are damaged during on-site works will be replaced;
• Planting of native trees underplanted with shrubs and ground covers will from the buffers along the
north and south of the site. A 6m wide landscaped buffer provided along the Hofmann Drive frontage
which consists of forest tree planting and cluster of palms and feature trees to identify entry points;
• An emphasis on the communal open space area which forms a further buffer to the Noosa Civic
Shopping Centre to the north. The communal open space offering as part of the development is
made up of a series of inviting spaces that have been created to entice residents to interact with their
external and natural environment.
Note, the extent of any rehabilitation works (if any), as illustrated in the adjacent Covenant J area will be
resolved as part of a separate OPW permit, post approval of this development application.
Please Refer to Appendix H for a copy of the Landscape Concept Plan, prepared by Jeremy Ferrier
