GENERAL COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 12 January 2015
Application No. Applicant Application Detail Fees & Charges Fee Paid
Policy
MCU14/0087 Craig Davies Application for surf $5280 $1370
equipment hire business
at 13 Noosa Drive, Noosa
Heads
The applicant requested a fee reduction to establish a Retail Business type 2 – shop & salon at 13 Noosa
Drive (in addition to the existing car hire business onsite) proposing a fee of $1800.
The proposal did not include any permanent structures, with a trailer (display for surfboard equipment hire)
used for the business. The trailer was to be wheeled to the front of the site in the mornings and to the rear
of the site at night and comprised a use area of 9m² (area suitable for the trailer and a little more). No use
of the existing building was proposed as it is an internet based business.
Retail business type 2-shop & salon is a consistent, impact assessable use in the Noosa Heads Locality
and attracts a base fee of $5,280.
The proposal did not require any built form assessment, is a consistent use and, there were no foreseeable
issues. The minimum fee for a development application (requiring a report) was charged.
MCU14/0068 Noosa Par 3 Application to extend the $22,320 $7,440
par 3 golf course at 2 &
16 Goldburg Court
Noosaville
The applicant requested a fee variation for the proposed extension to the par 3 golf course, specifically
requesting the inconsistent multiplier of 3 not be applied.
The multiplier was considered excessive for the following reasons:
• There is already a conditional approval in existence for a Golf Course;
• A 27 Hole x Par 3 Golf Course, Clubhouse, Maintenance Sheds, landscaping and car parking
already exists;
• The intersection with Noosa Eumundi Road has been previously upgraded to DTMR and Council
requirements;
• The proposed caretaker’s residence structure already exists on site;
• The site had limited environmental features that would require assessment, being mostly cleared
land, except for the vegetated watercourse; and
• The existing Golf Course and Clubhouse is of a good standard and has operated for some time
without complaint.
REC14/0015 Courtware Pty Ltd Application to subdivide 1 $5,292 $2,646
lot into 4 lots at 73
Eumundi Noosa Road,
Noosaville
The applicant requested a reduction in fees in order to re-lodge an application for an approval that had
recently lapsed.
An approval for Reconfiguration of a Lot (1 lot into 4 lots) at Eumundi Noosa Rd Noosaville was approved
on 18 May 2010 with a relevant period of 4 years. The approval lapsed on 18 May 2014.
The assessment provisions for the development had not changed since the original application was lodged
and therefore little additional assessment was required of this new application. Further, no major changes
to the conditions were anticipated, with only minor amendments and updates needed. A 50% reduction to
the fees was applied.
