4377-131119-1.0
Operating sewage treatment works, other than no-release works, with
a total daily peak design capacity of 21 to 100 EP if treated effluent is
discharged to an infiltration trench or irrigation scheme.

If additional people are using the site and/or water conservation is not being practiced within
the building and additional flow is being generated, enlargement of the STP and irrigation
area may be required. This will be additional cost to the owner.

3.4 TREATMENT SYSTEM
Treatment of wastewater must achieve a minimum of secondary or advanced secondary
effluent quality in accordance with the Queensland Plumbing and Wastewater Code 2011.

Treated Wastewater shall comply with the following quality criteria specified in Table 1.1 of
the Queensland Plumbing and Wastewater Code, which are as follows:
          « BODs <20mg/L
          » §S<30mg/L
          » Thermotolerant Coliform (org/100mL) < 200

3.5 ADDITIONAL DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS
A number of other design considerations should be made in relation to the following key
elements associated with this project.

Peak Flows and Low Flows
The wastewater treatment plant must be able to cope with periods of sustained high or peak
loads and also periods of very low influent. During these times, appropriate flow balancing
may be necessary in order to buffer against such extreme variable conditions.

Effluent Quality & Concentration
Developments with mixed uses produce (Factory Office Facility) a different type of
wastewater when compared to traditional domestic effluent. Typically, this effluent can be
more concentrated and require specific design considerations.
