Workplace Management Plan
Lake MacDonald Drive, Cooroy
An Emergency Management Plan IMS-04-02 is prepared for this project by the competent person (refer table 3
of this plan, Emergency Officer) or persons of equal qualifications, in consultation with the project and
emergency management team. The plan is prepared in order to provide an effective response to an emergency.
The emergency plan includes;
▪ Site evacuation locations
▪ Hazard and risk controls
▪ Emergency personnel details
▪ Emergency and medical service location and contact details
▪ Specific procedures for identified emergency situations
▪ Test and review dates
When developing the emergency plan consideration is given to;
▪ The nature of the work
▪ Site size and location
▪ Number and composition of workers
▪ Likelihood and consequence of an incident
▪ Potential emergency situations
▪ Site hazards
▪ First aid requirements
It is acknowledged that every Shadforth project is independent and requires an emergency plan tailored to its
needs. Each project’s need is assessed through a risk assessment and items added to the site-specific Project
Risk Register IMS-05-39, as required. Although every project is independent, it is widely acknowledged and
accepted that many of the emergency procedures and protocols implemented on a Shadforth site will be
identical or similar.
Shadforth acknowledges that instances may arise, where additional emergency procedures and additional
personnel emergency training will be required. Site specific emergency scenarios and required training, will be
identified at the construction pre-commencement meeting. The detail of the rescue/emergency plan, for the
identified emergency, will be contained in the Emergency Management Plan IMS-04-02. Any detail of
equipment, first aid or extra training that would be needed will be documented on the Project Emergency and
First Aid Risk Assessment IMS-05-32. The Emergency Management Plan is displayed in the projects office and
workers are informed of the plan at the project’s induction. Changes to the emergency plan are documented on
the plan and communicated to workers via a toolbox talk.
