Council Candidate 2 – 12 Lake Cooroibah Road, Cooroibah Service Capability & Design Council’s second proposed location at 12 Lake Cooroibah Road would be located too far south to provide sufficient quality service across the Cooroibah community. This proposed location is likely to result in degraded coverage / a complete loss of service to numerous properties, particularly premises along Murchinson Lane and McKinnon Drive. Premises in these areas would receive a signal strength that is 1/10th the signal strength that our proposed facility at Jirrima Crescent can deliver, which represents an extremely week signal incapable of connecting those properties to the fixed wireless network. Therefore, this alternative location is not considered to be technically viable. In summary, nbn has an established track record of considering all feedback provided by Council, and has relocated facilities in the past where an alternative site was found to have adequate technical capability and result in an improvement to overall planning outcomes. We regret that at Cooroibah, the proposed alternatives neither improve planning outcomes (because we cannot propose shorter poles at these locations), nor deliver good service outcomes for the community. Considering the above, nbn will continue to work towards lodgement of a Development Application to Council for a proposed 45 metre fixed wireless facility at 23 Jirrima Crescent, which we believe not only has superior merit to the proposals we could make at the alternative locations, but also has genuine planning merit in its own right. I trust this information has been helpful.
