Overall Outcomes Compliance
viewed by road users and dwellings in
this area.
The proposed facility has been
appropriately located within a low
density, rural residential area and will
not adversely impact the Rural
Settlement Zone. The facility has been
intentionally located near the western
property boundary of the subject site to
reduce the disturbance of the site and
to provide greater separation to
dwellings in the area. Furthermore, the
nbn™ compound will occupy a
relatively small lease area (120 m²) of
the total 4 hectares of land, which will
prevent the fragmentation of the
potentially productive land, although
the site is not currently used for
agricultural or grazing purposes.
The facility has been intentionally
located on privately owned land for
which an extension to the existing
access is required and will involve
minor vegetation clearing works. The
site access is considered to be
appropriate given the nbn facility will
not be a significant generator of traffic
and is not anticipated to adversely
impact on the surrounding road
network. The proposed facility will also
have restrictions aimed at preventing
public access, including a secured
compound fence with a locked gate and
warning signs placed around the
facility.
For these reasons, the proposal is considered to comply with the overall
outcomes for the Infrastructure Uses Code. Further compliance with the Specific
Outcomes and Probable Solutions for the Infrastructure Uses Code is included in
Appendix 3 – Code Table Assessment.
