15.16 - Transport network schedule of works" for completing the final missing link along Clay Street (includes
Marquee Lane i.e. Clay St-West) to the Summit Road intersection of the school. It is not a proposal for duplication of
existing pathways on Council managed land however the final design may take into account some of the existing
paths on school property pending further consultation with the school.
In relation to the comment made regarding pedestrian access from the town centre to the showgrounds, the existing
designated trunk pathway provides access from Factory Street through Cooroora Creek Park and then along the full
Pavillion Street frontage of the showground site and therfore already serves this purpose.
The alternative proposal being in addition to the existing route, is considered unnecessary for the current LGIP
planning horizon however may be reconsidered further in the next 5 year LGIP review.
The assertion made by the submitter that completing a pathway missing link for the benefit of school children for
regular use on a daily basis is of lesser importance and priority than for an additional alternative access to that
already provided to a particular site is not supported.
