There has been continued growth in the uptake of green waste garden bin service due to the
expansion into country areas of Cooroy, Pomona, Cooran and Boreen Point. The ongoing
discussion of organic waste recycling by the Community Jury has also prompted interest in the
service. The WMS is continuing to work with Cleanaway to audit:

 bin number/service data to ensure that their database exactly mirrors that of Council, and
 the Noosa Shire’s public place recycling bins to inform a review of the current servicing
   methodology.

Customers using Council’s three waste sites
The following information shows a slight increase in the number of customer visits to the
Eumundi Road site, but a fall in the number using the rural waste transfer stations at Cooroy and
Pomona. The fall in visits to the waste transfer stations in these areas is believed to be due to
the expansion of the green waste garden bin service into those areas.
