7.0 Active Transport Considerations
7.1 Pedestrian and Cycle Facilities
The private circulation street referred to as ‘Main Street’ travelling north-south between Lot 3
and Lot 7 will provide footpaths within both verges. Development plans depict pedestrian
connections through both allotments to these footpaths, located centrally, and align with a
proposed raised pedestrian crossing for safe crossing between the two lots.
The development will consist of an open space area, noted as ‘Village Green’ within Lot 3
which is intended to facilitate pedestrian movement in an east-west orientation, allowing for
access to/from Lot 7, and the existing Noosa Civic shopping centre via a proposed pedestrian
bridge for traversing the open space area to the west referred to as ‘Covenant J’. Additionally,
along the western side of the development, key pedestrian and cyclist movement will be
facilitated through the provision of a shared path connecting Hofmann Drive (south) to the
Transit Hub (north). Figure 13 presents the locations of these proposed pedestrian and cycle
facilities within the development layout.

7.2 Bicycle Parking
7.2.1 Statutory Requirements
Bicycle parking acceptable outcome for the proposed development is specified within Table
9.4.1.4 of NSC’s Driveways and Parking Code. The required bicycle parking provision rates
and the development yield assumptions are summarised in Table 11 and Table 12 for Lot 3
and 7 respectively.
